Useful Tagalog Expression: Paki-ulit po.

Normally, when you are learning a language, you first speak slowly and do not catch all the words said to you by native speakers, it's because native speakers have no control of their speech when speaking naturally, one useful expression you can practice during times like these is:  Pakiulit po, meaning, please repeat.

Now, "paki"  is a prefix added before a verb in order to make that verb a request.  Here are some examples:

Please call  (someone)                - Pakitawag (po) si   _____.
Please pass (something)              - Pakiabot (po) ang  _____.
Please give  (something)              - Pakibigay (po) ang  ____.
Please buy  (something)              - Pakibili (po) ng ________.
Please fix    (something)              - Paki-ayos (po) ang _____.

Why is (po) in parentheses?  It's because it is optional to put po.  When you are speaking to someone younger, you may skip using po.
