    The Philippines recently just suffered the wraths of three strong, major typhoons, something that brought a lot of trauma to Filipinos who seem to suffer the same fate year after year after year.    The Philippines' location is very strategic for storms to form and hit, unfortunately.  Yes, we are endowed with great natural resources, and when the day is really fine and maaraw, mahangin, mainit, maulap and malamig, all is well among us Filipinos.  However, when it starts to become maulan and bumabagyo, that's when we start worrying.  Because if it rains constantly, chances are, some below ground areas and towns and barangays located near creeks and rivers are likely to be flooded.  That's how bad rain can affect the country.  Sometimes too much rain can destroy crops, making the helpless farmers become even more problematic.  

You will find above some vocabulary regarding the weather in Tagalog:  

1. sunny - maaraw

2. rainy - maulan

3. windy - mahangin

4. hot - mainit

5. cloudy - maulap

6. stormy - bumabagyo

7. cold - malamig
