The following are the most common verbs in Tagalog. In Tagalog, we call verbs 'pandiwa.' I can still remember my teacher drilling to us her students what verbs are in Tagalog. Knowing and using the most common verbs is great for starters. So, try to master these verbs.
One way of mastering these verbs is acting them out. So when you say 'kain,' you must act it out. Do the same thing with other verbs until each one becomes automatic. Studying verbs is a very tricky topic in Tagalog or any language in the Philippines. You see, in Tagalog, there is no such thing as 'tense'. Instead we have what is called 'aspect'. And there are active and passive voices, but sometimes called focuses.
So, teaching grammar in Tagalog specially the verbs, is really time-consuming, however, an experienced teacher can make this easy to understand especially when she puts her lessons in correct context.
