Lesson 1: Greetings and Taking Leave

All language lessons begin with greetings.   In Tagalog and anywhere in the Philippines, the usual greeting dialog would run this way.

Here's the translation:

A.  Saan ka pupunta?                        Where are you going?
B.  Sa eskwelahan, ikaw?                  To school, you?
A.  Dito lang.  Saan ka galing?            Just here.  Where have you
                                                         been?
B.  Sa bahay namin.  Sige, aalis          From our house.  Okay.  I'm
        na ako.                                       going now.
 A.  Sige.  Ingat.                                 Okay.  Take care.

Saan ka galing?  -  There is no direct translation to this because it just means, where were you before now?
